Hi there!
I hope you had an enjoyable end of year celebrations and that you’re kicking off 2025 in a good way.
This is Part Two of my new year posts.
Last week, I shared my reflections on 2024 with you.
This week, I’m turning my attention to the new year and to sharing my 2025 vision for Seeking Wisdom with you.
Let’s get into it!
A place for exploration.
I don’t want to set a rigid roadmap or set specific goals for this newsletter.
Seeking Wisdom is still very young — only a baby in human years! — and I want to give it freedom to find its feet.
And that takes time.
This is because no project is born fully fleshed out.
It's easy to look at mature projects and think they were like that from Day 1. But that's not the case.
What you see is the result of a journey of maturation.
To get there, the young project needs to go through a period experimentation.
The creator needs to nurture the initial idea with their attention.
The audience nourishes it with its feedback.
It’s a two-way process of building and distilling.
And so, before Seeking Wisdom can grow into what I hope it can be, I need to try out new things (in terms of topics, media and style).
That’s why 2025 will be a time for exploration.
Interesting conversations.
Some of the most life-changing experiences I’ve had were conversations with interesting people.
That’s because a conversation is the meeting point of two different lived experiences.
It’s an intimate exchange that has the power to change your perspectives — and maybe even alter the course of your life a little.
And that’s why I want to talk to, and record, conversations with interesting people.
I'm not sure what kind of format these conversations would follow but I do love podcasts and I want to explore that medium.
Listening to someone’ voice is intimate and there’s a lot of richness — dare I say, wisdom — to be found in it.
(I want to interview people who have followed a strong vision in their lives, who have followed unconventional paths out, and who have things to teach.
If that’s you or someone you know, send me a DM or reply to this email).
Press Reset — an ebook idea
As I outlined in my recap of 2024, one of the best things I did was to earn my first online $1.
That experience has given me the motivation to strive for the next level, which, for me, is to write an ebook.
This is something I've wanted to do since last summer but never got round to it because, well, writing a book is a daunting challenge.
But, in the last few weeks, I’ve laid out the outline and I'm hoping to get it written in the first months of this new year.
What will it be about?
I want to share everything I’ve learned over the past few years about how to deal with burnout and resetting yourself.
It's current title is Press Reset — How to Find Yourself in the Noise of Daily Life.
I'm imagining this book as a guide of sorts that can help you look within and find the strength and courage needed to be more grounded.
To help you get there, I want to focus on the importance of feeding both your physical and psychological needs.
That's why I'm planning to cover the three pillars of health — exercise, sleep and diet — followed by the reflective practices of mediation and journaling.
As for distribution, I'm thinking of publishing it as a series here on Seeking Wisdom.
I want to invite you into the writing process — your feedback on it will be invaluable.
See you every Saturday!
I have no idea where I’ll be with Seeking Wisdom by the end of 2025.
All I know is that this kind of project is about the process, not the outcome. And that process is to keep writing and publishing regularly.
It's this practice that has gotten me here and I'm curious to see where it’ll take me.
And so I’ll continue to send you an email every Saturday.
I'll continue to write about what interests me. And I’ll strive to do it in a way that’s relatable to you.
So never hesitate to hit reply to any of my emails and let me know what you think.
I wish you a happy new year!
May your light shine brightly upon the world.
Ben
