GLUED

A personal story told through mass media

With the elections in the US only several days away, I’ve — like you, I’m sure — gotten completely fed up at the non-stop news coverage.

The incessant daily frenzy to cover the latest scandal or outrage reminded me of a short film I made back in 2011 using found news media footage.

At the time, the world was a very different place.

The spectacle is the bad dream of modern society in chains, expressing nothing more than its wish for sleep.

Guy Debord

Yet I think my critique of news media — and it’s role in shaping our relationship to the world — is still very much accurate.

News keeps us glued to our screens, incapable of doing anything else.

It feels like there’s no escape.

What do you think?
