With the elections in the US only several days away, I’ve — like you, I’m sure — gotten completely fed up at the non-stop news coverage.
The incessant daily frenzy to cover the latest scandal or outrage reminded me of a short film I made back in 2011 using found news media footage.
At the time, the world was a very different place.
The spectacle is the bad dream of modern society in chains, expressing nothing more than its wish for sleep.

Yet I think my critique of news media — and it’s role in shaping our relationship to the world — is still very much accurate.
News keeps us glued to our screens, incapable of doing anything else.
It feels like there’s no escape.
